HEAD OF SALES – KENYA
Our client a leading manufacturer of Grey Cement and White Cement in the World is looking to recruit a Head of Sales for Kenya, with excellent experience in the Paint or Cement industry. They should possess a strong network of Dealers, Architects, Contractors, Builders, Hotels, and Government Institutions. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record in the sales of White Cement, Wall Putty, Plaster, Tile Adhesives, Construction Chemicals, and related products.
CORE COMPETENCIES
1. Business Development
- Identifying and developing new streams for long-term revenue growth and maintaining relationships with customers to achieve repeat/referral business.
- Utilising public information and personal network for developing marketing intelligence to generate leads.
- Tapping new markets and coordinating with channel partners to expand business & generate income.
2. Sales & Marketing
- Driving sales strategies for attainment of periodical targets with a view to optimize revenue from primary as well as secondary sales.
- Evaluating marketing budgets periodically including manpower-planning initiatives, Marketing and CSR Activity and ensuring adherence to planned expenses.
- Monitoring and keeping collections under control, with timely recovery of outstanding; conducting competitor/ market analysis by Keeping abreast of market trends, competitor moves to achieve market share metrics.
3. Dealer Management
- Devising and implementing Credit Policies and Dealer Management System; planning and defining Yearly Retail Target and Yearly off-take target for the dealers.
- Monitoring Retail growth of the dealers and ensuring profitable operations at their end; carrying out External audit of Balance score card of dealers based on their performance.
- Finalizing & implementing Dealer Incentive Policy to motivate dealers to perform as per expected levels and ensuring achievement of sales targets.
4. Project Management
- Identify The projects through Visiting Architects, QS, Contractors and Developers.
- Help them to recommend products according to their project requirements.
- Help them to specify Paint system, Paint Specification and shades.
- Responsible for Product approval and Shade approval.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interacting with Dealers, Architects, Contractors, Hotels and Government Institution regularly to gain Business and Push New Product.
- Managing staff levels to ensure that key target marketing areas are always covered.
- Advancing the company’s strategic positioning with key accounts and strategically Important geographies.
- Maintaining strong and cordial relationships with Dealers, Architects, QS and Contractors.
- Identifying and monitoring the performance of competitors in the marketplace.
- Providing excellent customer service to designated accounts.
- Responsible for Sales budgets, Collection, New Product Sales and expenditure forecasts
- Able to identify profitable new distribution points.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Software including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Able to use market knowledge to influence decisions regarding customer pricing and sales programs.
- Organizing Training Programme for Painters, Carpenters, and Dealer Salesman such as new product introductions, sales promotions, etc.
- Able to manage all aspects of sales to prospective and current customers, including Providing highly technical and administrative product information
- Ability to establish priorities and work under limited supervision.
- Negotiating with market research companies and advertising agencies.
- Able to forge high performing working relationships with sales colleagues.

Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of 15 years’ experience in the construction field.
- Master’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Management, Business Administration, or any other business related or in Communications, Marketing, Business Management, Business Administration, or any other business related.
