CORROSION SPECIALIST, AGE

Our Client requires to fill the following position for a new project in one of the Islands in the British Indian Ocean Territory.

POSITION: CORROSION SPECIALIST, AGE  1 POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF JOB TASK AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Corrosion Specialist performs painting, sandblasting, stencils and marks AGE according to Technical Publications Ensures that all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance action is performed in accordance with applicable Air Force Technical Orders and Periodic Inspection work cards. Cleaning/corrosion control/preservation shall be in accordance with Technical Order 35-1-3. Equipment that will not be used for extended periods shall be preserved to maintain material condition. Adheres to and follows work to be done in accordance with U.S. Air Force established Standard Procedures and Technical Orders manual 1-1-8, 1-1-69, 35-1-3, 35-1-12 and other applicable references. Responsible for the damage sheet metal and corroded/ worn parts to obtain a high quality, smooth finish in shop or in field in accordance with T.O. manual 35-1-3, 35-1-12. Maintain serviceability standards of all AGE equipment based on diverse Technical Orders and manufacturers manual. Paints and stencils, and marks AGE according to technical publications. Operate, clean, inspect, and service AGE towing AGE Equipment. Must accomplish any extra duties as designated by the annex manager.

BASIC JOB QUALIFICATIONS: (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Must be able to speak, read & write technical English.
  • Must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license, Professional Restriction Code 2 &3. 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS: SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS OR TRAINING

  • Responsible for minor and major repair work in a routine and on emergency cases.
  • Adheres to and follows work to be done in accordance with U.S. Air Force established Standard Procedure and Technical Orders Manual. 

EDUCATION:

  • Must be a High School graduate.
  • Must be a graduate of Vocational or Trade School in Mechanics.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Must have three (3) years’ experience in sand blaster, painting and corrosion control.

Salary is paid in dollars and the breakdown is as follows:

If one work for 40hours per week – $ 482.00(Net Salary)

If one works for 48hours per week – $ 578.40 (Net Salary)

  • Overtime: Work in excess of 8 hours per day or work performed on a rest day and/or holiday, will be paid at the base salary rate.
